The Sonoman
Revised

For those of you re-reading this column, I decided to grow up and act more business like.

If you decide you like my ranting of the bygone publications, let me know and I'll replace the original.

Now that I'm fulfilling a role as chief editor and publisher,  I thought I'd do some things differently.  I happen to believe in people, that they are truly capable of running their own lives, and that freedom to do just that is imperative (given of course they are 30 years or older and mature enough to handle a visa/mc.....just kidding).

I want readers to understand a little more about me, my thoughts and positions and of course my rhetoric.

Therefore, I thought I'd disclose some personals so that you may feel somewhat more inclined to trust in my thoughts, opinions and conclusions. My sense of humor may be a little off at times, but it also helps me make it through the crazy days.

Great Lines to live by:

This was written by Rich Galen, www.Mullings.com  after the leak of the GWB DUI. As long as we're now in the quote business, here are a few which might be helpful. On the effect of the whole DUI thing:

"It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,

signifying nothing." -- Macbeth

On who is behind the release of this

report, long-time friend Tim Byrne wrote in to remind us of a quote by Bill Clinton when the Gennifer Flowers story suddenly burst on the scene. The Clinton campaign was certain the rival campaign of Jerry Brown was responsible even though the Brown campaign denied it. Of those denials, Clinton was reported to have said,

"Down where I'm from, if you see a

turtle sitting on a fence post, you

kind of figure someone put it there."

And, finally (print this out and tape it

to the top of your computer screen),

the following:

"I believe in grace, because I have seen it;

in peace, because I have felt it;

in forgiveness, because I have needed it."

-- George W. Bush
.......in his acceptance speech in
Philadelphia.

Not one really for predictions.....

After I read this, I sent Rich Galen an e-mail, in which I predicted GWB would win by >12%

rk. 11/4/2000

(oh well, I had to be different)
